Bethlehem Steel

Weather-Protected Industrial Reconstruction
  • During a major reconstruction project at a Bethlehem Steel facility, Airwise predecessor technology was used to enclose an active industrial site so work could continue without interruption from weather.

  • The structure was custom designed to span the work area while fitting around existing fixed equipment, overhead conveyors, and catwalks. Once deployed, it created a stable, dry environment without contacting or interfering with any of the surrounding infrastructure.

Continuous Work Under Cover
  • The enclosure eliminated rain, snow, and temperature fluctuations, allowing crews and equipment to operate on schedule regardless of external conditions. Large clear spans provided unrestricted access for personnel and materials, while controlled airflow maintained structural stability throughout the project.

Proven Industrial Capability
  • This installation demonstrated the ability of large, low-pressure, cable-supported structures to function effectively in complex, heavy-industrial environments. It remains a reference example of how Airwise technology can protect schedules, reduce risk, and enable construction to proceed under challenging conditions.

Technical and project documentation for this case study are available through the Resource Library.
